**JOB SUMMARY**
The Director of Sales & Distribution leads all sales and distribution efforts on behalf of the hotel. Serves as the property’s sales department leader, overseeing segmented sales effort (e.g., group, transient, association, corporate, etc.) and significant local catering revenue. Manages the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts. Develops and manages all internal and external stakeholder relationships and ensures that property sales and revenue strategies are consistent with Area and Continent strategy. The position provides leadership while developing and implementing commercial strategies to meet all hotel sales, revenue, and market share targets.
The role is responsible for carrying out Marriott's global distribution strategy and ensuring that hotel sales activities adhere to Marriott's channel standards and policies in order to increase profitable revenue through all channels, including direct and intermediated channels. The position is responsible for customer satisfaction and service, with a focus on sales effectiveness and creative customer-driven solutions. Furthermore, the position is in charge of utilising all available resources and data analysis to identify new business opportunities, such as new industry segments, and conducting competitive analysis to assist the hotel in gaining market share and meeting its total sales targets and provide a return on investment to the owner and Marriott International
**Required**
4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4-5 years’ experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area
**Preferred**
- 4 year college degree.
- Demonstrated skills in supervising a team.
- Lodging sales experience, Marriott sales, distribution and revenue systems
- Hotel industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
**EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS**
**Developing & Executing Sales Strategies**
- Responsible for reactive and proactive account and segment sales, local and social catering sales, and Reservation sales.
- Assists in the development of the Hotel Business Plan and execution of a specific and measurable plan by segment.
- Reviews the Strategic Alignment Review (STAR) report, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
- Research competitor’s sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.
**Maximizing Revenue**
- Analyzes hotel market share reports, month end reports to make recommendations to maximize results
- Recommends booking goals for sales team members.
**Managing Sales Activities**
- Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
- Executes and supports Marriott’s Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
- Accountable of the hotel website content in terms of key unique selling points and accuracy of copy and imagery
**Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data**
- Analyzes market information by using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve property’s financial room and catering goals.
- Reviews sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement.
- Partners with Revenue Management to assist in the development of the hotel sales and distribution strategy and ensures that these strategies are communicated, implemented, and continuously updated based on business outlook.
**Building Successful Relationships**
- Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., EventBooking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
- Works with Human Resources, Engineering and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with local regulations requirements.
- Attends customer events, trade shows and sales missions to maintain, build or develop key relationships with GSO Managers and customers.
